The images are riveting. A soldier crossing a river in the Mekong Delta is totally submerged, the photo shows only hands holding a weapon clear of the water. ‘Requiem’ commemorates the 135 photojournalists who gave their lives while covering the conflict that began with the French Indochina War of the 1950s. Because the Vietnam War was covered without censorship, these images present an exceptionally frank and terrifying portrayal. Work is included by the great photojournalists of the century, such as Robert Capa, Larry Burrows and the celebrated female pilot and photojournalist Dickey Chapelle.
